Terrence has been in the European private equity business for 25 years.
He was Co-founder and Managing Partner of GMT Communications (previously Baring Communications), a European private equity group focused on telecoms, media and technology, during 1993 to 2005. Baring Communications/GMT consisted of three sector-focused funds that raised and invested €500 million of LP capital, during which time it also completed its own buyout from original corporate sponsors. Terrence sat on the investment committee overseeing 24 portfolio investments in 18 countries. He personally led 10 investments and sat on boards in 12 countries. Terrence also played roles in the oversight of group marketing, fundraising, team building and recruitment, and finance/administration.
Previously, Terrence worked in corporate finance and international M&A at the merchant banks Baring Brothers in London and Hambrecht & Quist in Silicon Valley.
Terrence was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where he received an MPhil in Economics, and graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University, where he received a BA in Development Economics from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. |
